2.16. Style Templates

Paid accounts on FormSpring come with the ability to create your own custom templates by using our template builder or adding your own HTML and CSS. The number of style templates you can build depends on your subscription level.  Click on the Style Template tab on the menu at the top of the form builder to view or create templates.

You can view a video tutorial of how to build a template here.

One thing to keep in mind is that Style Templates only apply to forms that are hosted by FormSpring (i.e. which you link to from your site). If you're embedding a form on your own website, it will use the style of the webpage it is on. If you'd like to style forms hosted on your own site, you need to alter the CSS for that particular site.  However, if you use the javascript embed on your own site, it will retain much of the style template but not the background color or header/footer images.

You can also customize the look of your forms by using Sections. Sections allow you to add remotely hosted images, HTML, formatted text, etc. anywhere within your form.

Using Your Style Template

To change the template used on a form, go to the Settings page for that form and choose your new template from the style template menu.  Any custom templates you create will be displayed here, as well as our pre-built templates.  You can also choose "no template," which is a good option when you are embedding the form on your own website and would prefer to style it with CSS.
